Wizards Note: Though rumors continue to swirl about a possible trade that would send (Mike) James and (Etan) Thomas as part of a package for former Wizard Larry Hughes prior to the Feb. 19 trade deadline, a league source familiar with the situation said it likely will not happen.

In October, the Wizards and Bulls were close to agreeing to a deal that would have swapped Hughes for Thomas and Antonio Daniels, who was later traded to New Orleans, but that deal fell apart when Hughes was injured.

The contracts do work. James's contract expires this year, Thomas's expires next year, so the Wizards would actually be the team assuming additional salary in this proposal.

Did Gilbert Arenas die or something?

I saw this earlier and I honestly, I don't see how this could possibly hurt us in anyway. Etan Thomas is a player I HATED in the years we played the Wizards in the playoffs, but he was good.

According to Brian Hanley of the Trib, the Bulls are not interested in Thomas or James.

Perhaps Paxson has learned a lesson or two from Kenny Williams? Because frankly this would be a smart move for the Bulls in a number of ways.
