6ers on the 2nd night of a back to back, last time these 2 teams played the 6ers Beat the Bulls in Philly.

This game just felt wrong all night long, but the 6ers had a lot to do with that. The Bulls came out flat and the 6ers came out like they were on a mission. Nothing was lost as the Celts lost AGAIN tonight.

*Falling down big right out the gate didn't help things, but the Bulls just couldn't get going. This game reminded me A LOT of our 2nd game against the Warriors. We had problems with both of their smaller dual guards in Ellis and Curry- only tonight it was Jrue Holiday and Louis Williams. If you have the means to do so against the Bulls...why not? It's not like guarding Bogans is a threat. While those guards didn't kill us- they had us scattered on the perimeter defensively and we just never got going. Those quick little guards also gave Rose problems as the 6ers changed looks in trapping Rose at times and did everything they could to get the ball out of his hands. This led to 10 TOs from Rose and was almost a carbon copy of what Golden St did. I absolutely don't believe this approach would work against Rose game to game, but it certainly could every once in a while. Great approach by Collins and the 6ers.

*Another match-up problem that killed us early on and really put his down 23 was what Thad Young did to us. He made Booz look worse than he normally does defensively. I was shocked Thibs didn't put Lou on Young at some point. It's not like Lou has success against Iggy- who is usually far too quick for Lou. I'm surprised the Bulls didn't go smaller more often. Thibs tried to adapt and played Watson at the 2 next to Rose to match the two smaller guards, but the Bulls were down 23 at that point.

*The outside shot just wasn't there for the Bulls tonight. Deng, Bogans, Korver and Rose were very ineffective from the perimeter tonight. That forced Rose to take it to the hoop pretty much every play in the 2nd half. Sure there were some no-calls where Rose got hammered, but the refs can't call a foul on Philly every time down...well they could have, but they wouldn't. The outside shot has to be there for the Bulls when they refuse to throw the ball inside to Boozer for some reason. If the Bulls don't go inside to Boozer when they're not hitting the broad side of the barn from the outside...why play Boozer? Collins knew the Bulls wouldn't throw the ball into Boozer to go at Young...so Collins didn't have to change anything up allowing Young to crush us on the offensive end.

*All in all the 6ers played about as well as they could and the Bulls didn't play well...yet they almost came back and pulled it out before the 6ers pulled away in the last two minutes. The 6ers hit a ton of tough shots in the 4th quarter and you have to tip your cap to them. You can't win all of them, but you if you don't get off the bus before the game...you stand a good chance at getting beat.
