John Paxson ever since the lottery dictated our selection being the second one, mentioned three key words

"Length" "Athletisism" "Size"

Tyrus Thomas,Thabo Sefolosha and Victor Kryhapa all add this dimension packet to our team. Right now there might be many of you wondering "what is a sefolosha" or "who is Kryhapa and how is his name pronounced".

Trust in Paxson. The man knows what he is doing.

Did you see the Knicks fans tonight?-I felt sorry for them.

Most of you have seen Tyrus Thomas more than the other two players but I'll tell you these guys play very very good defense. They will fit in automatically in our system. Sefolosha will have that 3rd guard role that will back up Kirk and Ben.

Victor Kryhapa has long arms and basically he is designated as the replacement of Darius Songaila who I think is not ocming back.

As of now our roster is stacked and certainly you should expect another trade.

Chris Duhon,Chandler and/or Sweetney seem to be the palyers that will be dangled in trade discussions the next two months.

I hope you all enjoyed the draft. The Bulls got 3 useful players that know how to play basketball.

That's all it matters.

It's going to be hard for most of us to accept this as a good draft because of Thomas. I honestly haven't seen much of Sefolosha or Kryhapa, but I know neither of them are big post players. They might fit, but Thomas screws things up seriously.

Thomas and Krapface are SF. We already got 2 of them. Why take away minutes from Noch or Deng?

I understand your frustration.I' msure you had a favorite. Heck most of the fans were asking for Paxson's head when he picked Hinrich.

You have to trust Paxson and Skiles o nthis. they know that their bringing in workhorses. smile.gif

Thomas and Kryhapa will play the power forward spot mainly though they can paly the three. Both of them add versatility. Keep in mind that Sefolosha can play PG,SG and SF.

Victor is here to replace Songaila who isn't much of a good defender.

Krhypa started 53 games and managed to score a whopping 5 ppg.

But, Songalia could score. Krapface can't.

Plus, Thomas and Krapface don't have the size for PF. They would get eaten alive at PF. Has krapface even played PF.

And do you see me complaining about the Thabo pick?

I think thats enough with the Krapface and Krapkaka guys.

I had no problem with Hinrich. That made sense when Williams had his accident, and he was a solid player at Kansas for several years. Thomas had one year and LSU, and shot this far up in the draft based highly on 2 tournament games, one of which wasn't even that impressive. Plus, he has no real position in the NBA and we passed on a guy that perfectly fit our need. I lost a lot of faith in Pax tonight.

Don't push it.

Length and Size do not Describe Thomas at PF.

He is very athletic though.

This team is not built to win in the playoffs. We will be a first round bounce for years to come if we keep having SF's play PF and undersized PF's play center.

Yeah, but he fills the need of having a 4th SF on the Bulls, who we will force to play out of position at PF. Who will then get abused and we will complain.

that John Paxson sure knows how to build a team.

Ugh, this is just like the Bears draft. Drafting players that weren't needs, and ignoring needs.

Both John Paxson and Jerry Angelo could possibly be looking for jobs around this time next year.

Length, perhaps, he does have a 7'3" wingspan with helps him a lot, but size absolutely not. 6'7" 215 is aweful for an NBA PF. Ive been looking for an NBA PF his size, and there are none to speak of. There are a good amount of 6'8" guys there, but none are lighter than 240.

Some thoughts

Coming into the draft the Bulls had 2 major needs, a low post scorer and a big guard. Sefalosha (can we think of a shorter way to spell that) fits the big guard. I know a lot of people on this board wanted Carney or Brewer, but this guy, from scouting reports, looks comprable to, if not better than, both those guys.

The low post threat was not adressed through the draft obviously. In this draft, there was really only one player that potentially fit that need: Aldridge. Clearly Pax did not think Aldridge was as good as Tyrus Thomas, and did not consider him the answer. I hope he is right. I also assume at this point that the Bulls will address this need eventually (free agency is weak this year, big guys are available but not the one the Bulls need, though there are definitely trade options available). I dont think any of us expect a Bulls title next year, but they are getting closer. This team should be able to contend in a couple more years.

At this point, it is foolish to grade this draft before the off-season is actually done. Thomas has potential to be a good player in the league. Furthermore, Khrapya may be listed as a SF, but he is another guy that plays solid defense, and I do not think it's farfetched so say he wont see minutes as PF.

The last thing I want to say is that comparing Thomas to Chandler is foolish as far as development goes. Tyson really had his development slowed by his back injuries, hopefult Tyrus Thomas will not have the same problem.

Chandler has been in the league for 5 years, there are no excuses for him anymore.

We now have 4 SF's...even if you think they can play out of position at PF...they can't do it successfully!! that's what got us into trouble last year. That's why we blew leads and ended up loosing games we were winning in the 4th quarter. Noch did an admirable job at PF, but he's 6'7....so we draft TT who is the same size without offensive skills? Sweets is 6'7 and he was playing Center...that's f'n rediculous and we can expect to see it again. We can expect to have the opposing team shoot twice as many free throws. we can expect to give up leads in the 4th because we cant get easy post baskets. We can expect to get bounced in the 1st round again.

Wow. I am really disappointed in the way things went last night. I really thought we would come out of last night with a big man of some sort, and I am really shocked at the players we added. Thabo does fill a big need for the Bulls, and has been shooting up the draft boards. Tyrus Thomas still leaves me scratching my head, and it really makes me wonder if a deal is in the works for a big named player involving Luol Deng and Ben Gordon.
