lets see.. Im going to go out on a limb and say Sheldon Williams wins Rookie of the Year even though I cant stand the guy. I see the voting looking like this.

#1- Sheldon Williams 14.3 ppg 9.2 rpg 1.2 bpg
#2- Adam Morrison 15.1 ppg 3.4 rpg 1.2 apg
#3- Tyrus Thomas 9.6 ppg 6.3 rpg 1.8 bpg
#4- Brandon Roy 11.0 ppg 2.3 rpg 3.4 apg
#5- Andrea Bargnani 7.9 ppg 5.3 rpg 2.3 apg

My early choice would be Adam Morrison. He's in a good spot, and they are going to put up some points.
ZoomSlowik
Morrison and Roy appear to be the two favorites. Both will start from day one and are NBA ready players. Rudy Gay could be another one.

I don't see Williams being a factor in the voting because he probably won't score much. Thomas probably won't get enough playing time to be a serious contender.

MOrrison

The team will take the next step this year and at least compete for the playoffs, and ppl will forget okafor and may were injured most of last year, and though morrison will deserve some credit, he will get more and win ROY

Portland will still struggle, so roy will be at a disadvantage

ROY seems more stat-based than team performance based though. Guys have won it on mediocre teams before.

By the way I just feel like posting some rookie stats for the next couple years and what I think they will do I dont know why smile.gif

Sheldon Williams:

Year1- 14.3 ppg 9.2 rpg 1.2 bpg
Year2- 15.1 ppg 8.4 rpg 1.4 bpg
Year3- 12.1 ppg 7.1 rpg 1.2 bpg
Year4- 13.6 ppg 8.1 rpg 1.7 bpg
Year5- 16.0 ppg 10.0 rpg 2.0 bpg

For the most part I see Williams as a career best 15 and 9 guy with 1 or 2 blocks per game. Solid numbers..

Adam Morrison:

Year1- 15.1 ppg 3.4 rpg 1.2 apg
Year2- 16.7 ppg 4.2 rpg 2.3 apg
Year3- 18.1 ppg 5.2 rpg 2.1 apg
Year4- 20.2 ppg 4.3 rpg 2.3 apg
Year5- 22.8 ppg 5.1 rpg 2.0 apg

I can see Morrison as a pure scorer and for the most part average 22 and 5 for his career.

Tyrus Thomas:

Year1- 9.6 ppg 6.3 rpg 1.8 bpg
Year2- 12.3 ppg 7.4 rpg 2.2 bpg
Year3- 14.1 ppg 8.6 rpg 2.4 bpg
Year4- 13.1 ppg 9.2 rpg 2.7 bpg
Year5- 14.9 ppg 9.8 rpg 3.0 bpg

Can Tyrus live up to his true potential? I think he can and I can see him as a career 18 and 10 kind of guy with 2-3 bpg.

Andrea Bargnani:

Year1- 7.9 ppg 5.3 rpg 2.3 apg
Year2- 11.0 ppg 6.2 rpg 2.4 apg
Year3- 12.9 ppg 7.1 rpg 2.7 apg
Year4- 11.2 ppg 6.0 rpg 1.8 apg
Year5- 12.5 ppg 6.1 rpg 1.3 apg

I see Bargnani as a future semi bust. Maybe like a Tyson Chandler bust type where he produces but not as much as he should. I see him as a future 15 and 6 guy l8r down his career and at best 18 and 8 guy.

Brandon Roy:

Year1- 11.0 ppg 2.3 rpg 3.4 apg
Year2- 17.0 ppg 2.4 rpg 4.0 apg
Year3- 14.3 ppg 3.0 rpg 3.9 apg
Year4- 16.3 ppg 3.6 rpg 4.2 apg
Year5- 17.9 ppg 4.2 rpg 4.3 apg

I see Roy as a good 17 and 4 and 4 guy throughout his career..

Lamarcus Aldridge:

Year1- 10.2 ppg 5.4 rpg 0.6 bpg
Year2- 12.4 ppg 6.3 rpg 1.2 bpg
Year3- 15.6 ppg 7.1 rpg 1.2 bpg
Year4- 14.6 ppg 7.3 rpg 1.4 bpg
Year5- 19.3 ppg 8.1 rpg 1.2 bpg

I see Lamarcus as being a career 20 and 8 guy. Good solid numbers..

roy will win roy...

Roy has the best chance because he is going to get a lot of playing time early time, but I think Foye could get some votes as well.

Tyrus Thomas.............

18ppg 9rpg 3blks 2ast 2to. Wins rookie of the year and the Slam Dunk contest. Detroit comes in and scores a couple of athletic baskets on Nocioni, Skiles puts the more athletic Tyrus Thomas on Sheed, next time they go to Sheed to test the rookie, Tyrus sends Sheed's shot to the 12th row and than proceeds to laugh in Sheed's face. Tyrus leads the Bulls to the Eastern Conference Finals (where we lose) after beating the defending champion Miami Heat in 5 games, which pretty much introduces the world to the post MJ Bulls. Do you want to hear about Tyrus' MVP award and the Bulls 7th Championship, but this thread is not about Tyrus' Sophmore season?

This was from one of the members of RealGM they were predicting Tyrus' Stats and I thought this made me laugh... Hopefully it comes true lol.

Not a chance in hell.

I am going to the first to say it... Adam Morrison will average 20 points a night as a rookie if he is healthy.

This draft simply isn't that strong. You've got 5 guys putting up All-Star numbers, which would rank it as one of the best drafts in a long time. That's simply not going to happen.

The only guys with star potential (roughly in order of ceiling) are Gay, Thomas, Bargs, and Aldridge. Maybe 2 of those 4 hit their potential, even that seems a little high. Morrison and Roy will be solid players, but those projections are probably a bit high as well.
B-4-Bulls
I really only have three players puting up Allstar numbers.. Morrison, Sheldon and Thomas.

Aldridge in year 5 is probably an All-Star, and a couple of those Roy years are right there. Thomas is also a borderline All-star with those numbers, especially in the East.

You're way high on Williams. He's probably going to max out at 12 points in the NBA. He simply doesn't have that great a repetoire. I'm not sure he's athletic enough to get 10 boards either. I'd expect Morrison to be somewhere between 18 and 20 most of his career, not over. He still needs to show that he can consistently hit NBA threes, he wasn't a great shooter until his junior year. He also might struggle to create his own shots a little more. Thomas seriously needs to improve his offensive abilities to hit those numbers.

Outside of Bargnani, pretty much all of those are best case scenarios.

The thing is I HATE sheldon Williams lol laugh.gif

Im just going with my gut instinct
WHarris1
I say Roy or Morrison, hopefully Roy but probably Morrison. Even though I doubt Morrison with be a great NBA player he is going in to a great situation to put up points and get lots of shots for a rookie.

Shelden Williams would not be a bad choice either because he has a very high floor and figures to be the most NBA ready big man in the draft.

reddick is going to be in a pretty good situation in Orlando... if they use him... he might put up enough points for consideration.

Did anyone think Chris Paul would be the stand out rook last year?

Could be similar this year...you never know...
Chisoxfn
I'd lean to Brandon Roy because he's going to get a lot of minutes and is a 4 year player at Washington so he's quite ready for the pro's.

Yeah. Chad Ford said that too. I don't know what some people were thinking. I watched a lot of college basketball and thought that Chris Paul was by far the best player. I understood why Milwaukee went with Bogut, and even though it was a bad move, I can see why Atlanta liked Williams' potential. Utah really confused me though. I thought Paul's skills would transfer really well to the NBA, while I wasn't quite as sure about the others.
