Get. Darko.

Now that Lewis has agreed to sign with the Magic, Milicic will be allowed to become a UFA.

Man, Darko would be awesome. He's still only 22, and can definitely score. He's a legit 7-footer as well. Looks like Pax is gonna try to go after him too, now that he's a UFA. This little excerpt is from a Tribune article about Nocioni:
QUOTE (Chicago Tribune @ Jul 3 2007 )
Nocioni isn't the only restricted free agent Paxson is monitoring. Darko Milicic would interest the Bulls should the Magic woo Rashard Lewis and renounce their rights to the 7-footer.

that would be awesome if we got Darko but still we would have to work out some sign and trade deal because we cant offer darko more than the midlevel exception

I'd deal Noc for Darko in a second.

Wow, a big "no thanks" to Gordon for Darko. Just a slight drop-off in production. blink.gif

The second one is closer...

idk how much darko is looking for but i would assume its somewhere between 8 and 10 million.

Pax said he knew he'd have to make a deal, heres one that certainly wont bust up our core.

What would the Magic want???

Now that they have lewis and still have hedo turgolu it may be hard to convince them to pay 6 million for noce too. Unless they liked the idea of playing Lewis and noce with howard, that'd be a nice front line.

idk. if we get darko and give up noc, then who what's the lineup? wallace, darko, deng, gordon, and kirk? then tyrus and noah sit? i would then think tyrus would come in to give darko rests, then what, noah comes in when tyrus needs breaks? that will never work, unless noah comes in wallace and tyrus for darko

Wallace/Noah/Gray at C

noah and darko can both play center, especially in the east

i would expect the minutes to look something like:

Wallace = 32 mins at center = 32 mins total
Darko = 20 mins at pf 10 mins at center = 30 mins total
Tyrus = 20 mins at pf 5 mins at sf = 25 mins total
Noah = 8 mins at pf 6 mins at center = 14 mins total

Remember darko is still young. I think he's 22. Wallace will be declining soon and i think would be used like bill cartwright at the end of his career. As in, not playing heavy minutes except in the playoffs or against big time centers (bill was our ewing specialist, for anyone that doesnt remember)

In 08-09 i'd expect something more like....

Wallace = 25 mins at center = 25 mins total
Darko= 16 mins at pf 15 mins at center = 31 mins total
Tyrus= 20 mins at pf 5 mins at sf = 25 mins total
noah = 12 mins at pf 8 mins at center = 20 mins total

this would be an excellent front court rotation

Kirk/Thabo/JamesOn
Gordon/thabo
Deng/thabo/tyrus/griffin
Darko/tyrus/noah
Wallace/Darko/Noah/Gray

Championship caliber team....maybe not not next year, but I would predict EC finals appearance next year, maybethe finals, and then 08-09 is when we start our 3 peat

Unless Wallace starts to break down or has some nagging injuries, he'll play more than 25 minutes a game. He was around 40 minutes almost every game last year.

EDIT: Ok, you said 08-09. Nevermind.

So would I. Plus, I think we'd be the best team for Orlando to work out a sign and trade with. Otherwise, they could lose him to a team like Memphis with enough cap space to give him $8 million/year.

i just dont know if Darko will be able to handle coach Skiles. Darko is a bit of a baby, but then again maybe Skiles can toughen him up. Either way i dont see it happening. The best we are prolly gonna end up with is Chris Mihm.
