Kc Johnson said bulls couldn't believe Teague was there

Yeah I am shocked he was there too. They really did take the best available player, plus it allows them to give Watson and Lucas walking papers.

Lucas is expected, CJ is the interesting one because he's the only guy on the roster with a real team option that the Bulls can use to push themselves below the tax level.

Unfortunately that's exactly what I think is going to happen.

They can't just release them to get them off the payroll, their contracts are guaranteed so it'd still count against the team salary. That's the reason for the amnesty provision.

They all have options on their contracts that probably won't be picked up so they can avoid having to pay them.

Weird, Hoopshype lists Korver and Brewer as guaranteed, but I guess they're options. My bad.

The ESPN free agent page doesn't mention any kind of options for this coming up year. It just says CJ, Brew, and Korver are unrestricted FAs in 2013.

Every one of those salary sites has some quirks. One that seems prevalent right now is salaries for Derrick Rose that don't add up to the $94 million total on his contract (like the one above).

If you hover around each player there are a lot of misc. details about the contract. I believe he commented on the Rose contract extension number. The information is pretty spot on for the most part. I haven't found too many sites quite like it.

Also, here's something that might break your hearts like it did mine..

Spoke to a source in Chicago that said the Bulls were ready to pull the trigger on Perry Jones if he was there at 29.

That blurb only kind of makes sense. It should be basically the same numbers as Durant's deal regardless of the max numbers.

It does look pretty solid with some of the supplemental information, but the options being listed in grey bothers me. Couldn't they make it a nice, easy to see red like on hoopshype. laugh.gif They also don't appear to update it religiously enough for my tastes, they still list "#4 pick" under the Hornets' cap holds and haven't adjusted for the trade yet.

The Bulls are expected to pursue Kirk Hinrich.

That's just a really embarrassing awful atrocious move no matter how you look at it. This guy has regressed horribly as a basketball player and really doesn't contribute much of anything on the floor. If you are bringing in a veteran ahead of Teague at least let it be someone who can f'ing contribute.

I don't mind him if he could be a good tutor to Teague...but don't give him too many minutes over Teague.
