Does anyone know if Shawn Marion lives in Chicago? I just saw him working out at Equinox, 900 N. Michigan. He was talking to someone that works there and said he was going somewhere but would be back in a week. FYI, in no way do I think because Marion is working out downtown that he is destined to be a Bull, I was just curious if anyone knew if he lived around here or not.

I'm not sure. He was born in Waukegan though.

i did this on the thread that said gooden was close to coming for duhon and sweets...

PG- Hinrich/Pargo/miles
SG Gordon/ Thabo/Baden
SF Noc/Deng/Griffen
PF Gooden/T2/Allen/Khyrapa
C Wallace/Brown/luke

15 man looks really really good if it does go through

Pargo signed with the suns bc they told him he wouldn't have to pass more than twice next year. Plus that's 16 guys anyway. If that deal went through for gooden that would be awesome, but here is what the roster would look like

12man active
Hinrich/Thabo/miles
Gordon/Thabo/Griffin
Deng/Noc/tyrus/griffin
Gooden/brown/Tyrus
wallace/brown/allen

3 inactive spots
khryapa
luke
basden

i could go for that, but it will never happen if gooden wants his 60 mil

He played some ball last summer at De La Salle high school, about a block or 2 away from Comiskey, in a league with a few other Chicago guys like Antoine Walker and Bobby Simmons.

Wasnt JR Smith supposed to be big stuff out of high school. I was kind of excited to see he was involved with the trade even though he seems to be the lesses comodity. He might be a nice little role player considering he wasnt even the main incentive in the trade.

He was a monster in high school. He signed a LOI to go to North Carolina, but he kicked some serious ass in the McDonalds' All-American game. He hit like 6 threes, all of them from the parking lot. He's got a ton of talent, unfortunately he's gone now.

Those that say we may regret dealing Smith are right, there is a possibility this guy goes on to become a superstar cause the talent is there and I'm sure it had to be tough to trade that type of talent.

I just have to think Pax knows what he's doing cause this is the 2nd deal he's made where we lose on talent, than again when we dealt Curry we lost on talent and that deal is looking pretty good right about now.

I'll have to say that I think Pax knows what he's doing. He's got a plan. He's not just making moves to make moves, like some GM's.

Maybe he traded for the 2 2nd rounders b/c we're about to make another trade, and the team we're dealing with wanted the 2nd rounders rather than someone like Khryapa or JR. Who knows? But, it's a possibility.

???

Now you're devaluing tyson even more than I would.

As much as I dislike tyson, I think the trade was a very good gamble for the hornets. Since we wanted and needed to dump salary because we signed wallace, I feel that way gave up more than we got. I still hate him, but a change of scenery, playing with a PG who is gonna be amazing, and being on a team short on size might prove beneficial to him. In short, the hornets did way better in trading jr smith than we did.

And again, my whole question is not being answered. If you think that the best we could do for trading jr smith is giving him up for peanuts and acquiring adrian griffin for three years, that's cool with me. Personally, I don't and would rather have liked to have seen griffin signed for 1 or 2 years if he was truly the best available option. Not to mention the fact that I'm not a big fan of bringing back fringe players...

I imagine we could have gotten more talent for Smith if we tried hard. The big difference is that they talent might not have worked with the system and coaching in Chicago. As I have mentioned a few times before, the New York Knicks are filled with an incredible amount of talent, and look what that got them? You have to have a mix of guys who know their jobs and are willing to do them selflessly. That has been what has gotten the Bulls this far to date, why would you change that and start risking the team chemistry on questionable players with attitude issues?

There are plenty of guys who are big time out of HS that never amount to anything. Tell me what Leon Smith is doing today...
