QUOTE Alex Kennedy: It sounds like Marco Belinelli and the Chicago Bulls are in advanced talks. Nothing imminent, but he may sign for the bi-annual exception. Twitter Him and Pietrus are at the top of my list of guys I wanna see in a Bulls uni. Whats the bi-annual exception? Is that what they got from the Korver trade?? No right? Hinrich/Teague Bellinelli/Rip Deng/Butler Boozer/Taj Noah/?? If this bi-annual exception is different than the exception they got for Korver then they can use that to fill back up C. A guy I'd love to see fill that role is Greg Stiemsma. I'd be happy with Prizzy or Robin Lopez as well. Darko would very meh IMO but as a backup C I wouldn't be mad. |

I'd be fine with Bellinelli on the BAE. Leaves us the TPE from Korver.
I wish we could keep Asik, but Rockets offered him the contract. No way do I touch that. |

There are guys like Stiemsma, Lopez, or Pryzbilla that would make me forget about Asik real quick. I really like the idea of Stiemsma working with Thibs, I think he brings the heart, hustle, and muscle that Thibs would love. Have fun scoring on a Hinrich-Butler-Deng-Taj-Stiemsma 2nd unit (As we all know Dengs always out there) |

QUOTE Aggrey Sam: Source confirms Marco Bellinelli's deal with the Bulls is done. Also: Bulls attempting to sign summer-leaguer Malcolm Thomas to 1-year deal. Twitter QUOTE Aggrey Sam: Unsurprisingly, other teams after Thomas, too. Bellinelli deal apparently isn't precluding Bulls from continuing to chase FA 2G Randy Foye. Twitter Foye AND Bellinelli??? sign me up and say bye bye to Rip! Hinrich/Teague Bellinelli/Foye (not sure who'd they start) Deng/Butler Boozer/Taj/Thomas Noah/Naz Add Rose to that and thats an exciting team!! So if all this were to happen all the Bulls need is a 5th guard and I'd call it a really good offseason (considering they didn't have a lot of money to work with). |

It better not be Foye, he's pretty terrible. Bellinelli is alright, at least he can shoot. |

He started 48 games for a playoff Clippers team, he can't be too terrible. As a backup SG? he's not bad Terrible players can get good minutes on good teams depending on how they distribute their payroll. See Keith Bogans and Joel Anthony on teams a lot better than the Clippers. The guy is a chucker that can't guard anyone. |

I'm somewhat excited about the moves we made to get Beli/Foye. Both are good 3 point shooters and offer us some much needed scoring punch to go along with Kirk.
I'd much rather have the backcourt rotation that we now have with the exception that I think we will miss Brewer's D. Hopefully Jimmy Butler is ready to take the next step and be a solid backup SF and hopefully Teague can play well even though he is having a bad summer league. |

I think Bellinelli is a slight upgrade over Korver.
Kirk-Watson is a wash. Butler > Brewer in my mind. Taj is Taj Teague > JL3 Asik > Mohammad I don't see why this is so bad... |

I wonder what their intentions were with Foye, ship Rip, or 5th guard? I guess we'll get an idea when the next move is made. I do think Bell is a starting caliber player so I wouldn't be at all disappointed if they grabbed a Barbosa, Redd, or a Rush behind him and traded Rip for a pick. After seeing Butler on Lebron, and Melo I for one think Butler may even be better or at least on par with Brewer. |

Exactly...with an * *Asik D > Mohammad Mohammad O > Asik I'll miss Omer's D...not so much anything else. Also...when healthy...Kirk's D is hand's down superior to Watson. btw...LOVE the Belinelli signing...as well as Kirk's. |

Belinelli has upside and that's crucial for this deal. Korver is what Korver will be. Marco is a player that it seems likely still has room to grow and perhaps be a starting-caliber SG.
The downside is that it is a one year deal, so if he does well we may have to pay a fortune to retain him. |

With all the SGs on the market next year I think the 1 year deal is the right thing to do.
Next years FA crop may have Harden, Ellis, Martin, Derozan, Evans, Turner, and of course Bellinelli if he fits in well here. This years best SG was who? Courtney Lee and OJ Mayo?? Neither of whom are exactly studs. Mayo would have been nice but he doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would mesh well with Thibs. I mean this guy was sent to the bench permanently because he showed up to practice late. From what I read on Mayo he's best utilized as an iso scorer and the Bulls already have that in Rose. Lee was part of a sign and trade so its not like the Bulls could have just signed him. Same with Mayo right? |
