Knicks have bought the 29th pick from the Lakers for $3M in cash. Lakers also receive a 2nd round pick. Hell of a deal for the Lakers. $3M is a lot of money for a pick at the back-end of the draft, especially when you don't even know if the guy you are targeting will be there at pick 28.

Rumor:
QUOTE Wallace is an expiring $14 million contract that could also provide the Suns more immediate financial relief with a buyout (although he would still count as a $14 million salary for luxury tax purposes). Chandler's contract goes into the 2010-11 season at about $13 million. If the Suns make this move it would be an indication that they are not just looking at finances but talent because taking on Chandlers contract is a move to get better talent (Tyson is better than Wallace) but financially is dump. Oh and quite frankly I don't see why you make that trade if you are the Suns. I don't think Chandler is the type of guy you give up a 2010 expiring (which is what Wallace is) for. |

The only way the Suns would be under the cap next year is if they let both Amare and Nash walk correct? In other words...if they can grab Chandler without going anywhere near luxury tax territory, they're not really in a position where they can be thinking about 2010 expirings...they have to worry about whether they're losing their own guys, and they're not going to be making huge moves with that contract. |

I think the Suns could position themselves to be in a spot to go after 2010 but maybe I'm wrong. And how unlikely is it that Amare and Nash leave cause I'd put the odds on that being pretty good. Nash might stick around but he won't be the center piece to the team anymore. |

Chad Ford answering a Bulls question in his most recent Q&A
QUOTE Josh (Nebraska) Hi Andy! What are my Bulls doing tonight? Any big deals going down involving Hinrich, Thomas or hopefully something for Stoudemire? Andy Katz The Bulls are talking trades but nothing substantial yet. Sounds like no one has a clue what the Bulls are doing and who they are talking about, other than just generic that they know Gar has been on the phones. Who knew the org went back to the krause years where no one outside has any clue of what the Bulls are going to do (not necessarily a bad thing, but damn it I want some juicy gossip). That said I'd rather see us make a big move and have it go down than us get all excited and wet over nothing. Ie, I'd rather get the girl than watch the stripper. |
